Mark your calendars: on Tuesday, September 10 at 9pm, our founder Coya Renee will appear on Brick by Brick: Solutions for a Thriving Community, the regional public-affairs show from WCET (Cincinnati’s PBS station, Channel 48) and its sister station in Dayton, ThinkTV. The episode will spotlight The Experience Fund — and we couldn’t be more excited to share it with you.
If you’ve never heard of us, this is a good day to start.
What The Experience Fund Actually Does
The Experience Fund is a BloomStat Foundation program built around a simple idea: every family deserves the chance to make memories together, regardless of what they can afford. Working in collaboration with Project Connect, we fund shared outings for families facing hardship — a trip to the museum, an afternoon roller skating, a day at the zoo, a ticket to a ballgame.
These aren’t luxuries. They’re the ordinary moments that hold families together. As one parent told us after their outing:
“It was our first time in a long time together as a family.”
That sentence is why this fund exists. Financial hardship doesn’t just strain a budget — it quietly steals time, connection, and joy from families who need it most. The Experience Fund exists to give some of that back.
Why This Feature Matters
Brick by Brick doesn’t run paid placements or pick up press releases on a slow news day — its team digs into the region’s toughest challenges and features the people actually doing something about them. Being chosen is independent recognition that The Experience Fund is exactly what we say it is.
How You Can Be Part of It
- Watch the episode. WCET Channel 48, September 10 at 9pm, or later on the PBS App.
- Know a family who could use this? Reach out and we’ll connect them through Project Connect.
- Want to help fund a family’s day out? Every contribution goes directly toward making these outings possible.
We started this because we believe togetherness shouldn’t be something families have to earn back. On September 10, a few more people across the region are going to hear that message too. We hope you’ll tune in — and that you’ll consider being part of the story from here.
